A simple blog that I plan on using to post links and comments on items of interest I come across daily.

In Utero
Ok, so I'm not one to get squeamish about weird, personal stuff. I'm married to a nurse, I've heard a lot of gross stories while trying to eat dinner. My personal favorite was when she told me all about a patient that had her leg ripped off in a horrific motorcycle accident, while I was eating a steak.
I saw a shirt today that made me a little uncomfortable, and I was a little surprised by that. I saw a pregnant woman in the break room this morning with a plain blue shirt on, but towards the bottom of the shirt (right about at her belly button) was a picture, an ultrasound.
Yes, I felt like I was looking through her shirt, past her belly, and into her uterus to see her developing fetus. It threw me off so much that I didn't think to snap a picture with my camera phone. Since our initial encounter this morning I've made a dozen trips to the break room in the hopes to capture this oddity on film, but I'm afraid my efforts will end up like my hunt for Sasquatch. So far, no luck...

Playing with Electricity
We played around with an electrical stim device, it sends electric currents through the pads. We had it rotate through several settings, the first was a pulse, the last was a constant stream.
Enjoy.

Why I don't have a Facebook account
I've seen my wife's Facebook page, and feel this article does a good job of summing up the reasons why I don't want an account.

Fire Sale
If you've never seen Arrested Development, do yourself a favor and rent the first season. It is comedy gold.

Celebrity Jeopardy
If you're a fan of Celebrity Jeopardy, you'll know it can be a little crass at times. You've been warned.

I'd love an invite to this wedding
Destinee Hooker attends the University of Texas and is on the track team. After her last meet her boyfriend, Clifford Gay, proposed to her. I'm really looking forward to the Gay Hooker wedding, it's going to be off the hook.

Star Wars Kid, A New Hope
"Star Wars Kids" was a teenager that found a microphone stand, a video camera and a tripod at his school and decided to act out scenes from Episode One. After his friends posted the video on the internet for all to enjoy, people started making remixes. If you haven't seen the original, it can be found here.
My favorite remix is here.

New products
We all know that in order to be succesful in a capitalist society one must offer products and services that people want.
It would seem that some banks are making an effort to avoid Nationalization.

Classy post
I can't seem to shake the feeling that my blog content of late has been somewhat less than intellectually stimulating, I plan to rectify that with this post. If memory serves, "Carmina Burana" is a classical piece written in the early-mid 20th century by Karl Orff of Austria (or maybe it was Germany???). The most popular movement from this piece is "O Fortuna".
Since it was written in Latin, and thus incomprehendable to most, someone was good enough to translate it into English (well, kind of translate).
Sit back and prepare to be enlightened.

Zombie plan
Reading this article reminded me of an old favorite, Red vs Blue. The following embedded video is a Public Service Announcement about zombie plans.
F my life
I came across a website that allows people to post reasons why their life sucks. Some are quite amusing...
My personal favorite so far:
"Today, I had just opened up some porn on my laptop when my mom walked into my room, so I slammed the laptop shut. I didn't know the speakers continue to function after the laptop is closed. FML"

Sledgehammer + explosives = awesome
When taping a good amount of explosives to the end of a sledgehammer, nothing says safety like a bandanna and sunglasses.

I love dumb Americans
My favorite part of the video is in the middle, with the maps.
"Ya know what it's amazing, 'cause I just realized just now that North Korea is a lot larger than South Korea, I didn't know it was that large like that."
